چکیده
Background. Homocysteine is a sulfur-containing amino acid that can have damaging effect on the vascular endothelium, being an independent risk factor for development of cardiovascular pathology. The purpose. To evaluate functional state endothelium in hyperhomocysteinemia children with arterial hypertension. Material and methods. 111 aged 14 to 18 years were examined. All patients divided into 3 groups:group I (n=51) consisted hypertension, group II (n=30) included those high normal blood pressure, III was composed 30 healthy children. Plasma homocysteine determined by high-pressure liquid chromatography. Results. concentration increases pressure hypertension compared Pathological decrease endothelium-dependent vasodilation accompanied increase plasma.

PURPOSE OF REVIEW Although arterial hypertension is less common in children than in adults, there is growing concern about elevated blood pressure (BP) in children and adolescents not only because of the association of elevated values with the overweight epidemic, but also as cardiovascular functions are determined in childhood and track into adulthood. The purpose of the review is to discuss n...

Background: Right Ventricular (RV) hypertrophy is an adaptive response to chronic RV pressure overload in patients with pulmonary hypertension. We investigated the relationships between RV hypertrophy indicators, including electrocardiography, the percentage oxygen saturation (SaO2%), body mass index (BMI), and blood uric acid levels in patients with...

BACKGROUND Endothelium regulates vascular tone by influencing the contractile activity of vascular smooth muscle. This regulatory effect of the endothelium on blood vessels has been shown to be impaired in atherosclerotic arteries in humans and animals and in animal models of hypertension. METHODS To determine whether patients with essential hypertension have an endothelium-dependent abnormal...
